there are always so many things i'd like to change about myself

but right now i'm glad for what the Lord has given to me and how i'm getting to know many people in my life better because all these wonderful people have taught me many things and are helping me grow in so many different yet fantastic ways :> i really hope that as the year passes our friendships don't fade away but instead all grow stronger

speaking of friendships which fade there are many of such in my life right now. in fact there is one which my mind has been stuck on for a really long time, which breaks my heart to reminisce because i think i was really stupid back then. i'm trying to cling on to them somehow because some of them people are extremely important to me, like that one friendship i keep thinking about... sometimes things get awkward with friends and such but there's always someway that you can help make your friendship better, like being brave and confronting the issue straight with your friend. that's what i learnt from one dear girl who salvaged our friendship from deep beneath because she was brave enough to bring up the awkward topic. i guess people always say that if you're meant to be with your friend he/she will always take the initiative to approach you and show care and concern blah blah but it's always good if we ourselves take the initiative to show this warmth. :)

i'm so glad that this very very relaxing holiday break has helped me grow closer to many people in my life. it's also helped me realize who i should be growing closer to and who i should not, so thank God. somehow i feel that my matured thinking has killed my childhood innocence and hence i'm always thinking too much, making certain friendships really difficult. i need to stop thinking so much and really just take the plunge because i really don't know what else can happen with our friendship unless i do :) i am in control!!!! (and yes God is too)

so yes to wrap this short post up, thank you, every single one of you, for being friends with me, because though i may not always show it, i really appreciate you :) and drink heaps of water + get lots of rest, so that you don't catch stupid germs like me and fall sick!!!!

Why Make Time for God?

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. (Eccl 3:1)
According to the words of wise King Solomon, there is a time for everything: a time to study and a time to play, a time to learn worldly knowledge and a time to gain spiritual wisdom. But it is up to us to set out that time, to use our time wisely and devote part of it to God.
Imagine that, week in and week out, our days begin at 8 a.m. and end at 12 a.m., with no time to talk to God except for a few seconds before bed. What would our faith and our relationship with God be like? It would probably be weak, if not nonexistent. Like any other relationship, we need to spend time with God in order to develop a closer and more personal relationship with Him.

In addition, setting aside time for God allows us to keep sight of what is important—our ultimate destination of the heavenly kingdom. Our faith has a direct impact on whether or not we can enter heaven—and this is definitely worth making time for. Spending time with God not only impacts our ultimate goal, but it also makes a great difference in our daily lives. The following poem entitled "The Difference" illustrates how important it is for us to come into God's presence daily in order to gain strength and peace from Him. The busier we are and the larger our tasks, the more important it is to pray to the Lord.

i'm glad i've been given a chance this holiday to really draw close to the Lord again and feel His wondrous love and grace. it pains me to reflect on how i have been the past 6 months, but i'm glad that i've been given a chance to rekindle my fire for Him once again, through my trip to UK because we got to visit a few other branches of our church there, and also through the annual bible seminar (my last, sadly). the members in those churches were really warm and hospitable, and that really touched me :) for bible sem, we really ensured that we used up our time wisely for prayers and to do our duties well, and it was quite edifying!

If we really love someone, we would want to spend more time talking to him/her, taking time to communicate our love.
If we say we love God, we would want to spend more time in prayer, talking to Him and worshipping Him.

i really feel different after this bible sem, and i guess it's because i've already been through theolo (so i made use of this camp better), and i'm glad. it's always difficult to maintain this post-camp spirit especially during the school term, but i pray that God will help us all keep this fire burning for Him. :-)

Our love, devotion and commitment to Christ are reflected by our obedience to Him. May God guide us to lead lives pleasing to Him.

exams are over!!!!!!! i can't believe i didn't do a celebration post. been busy PARTYIN PARTYIN YEAAAAAH and rotting away after math ended. already got my marks back. passed one failed one, but paper 2 was ridiculous because only 9 people in my class passed and more than half the cohort failed. hahahaaha what a joke.

is it stupid or stupid that we have to do so many stupid projects now???

i didnt go for maroon 5 on monday even though i love the shit out of them so i was pretty bummed about it but then i had the best phone call with yihui and hanzhen (who will probably never read this - my friends are all traitors so horrible) so i felt better i guess weehee 95 + 78 + 11 forever <3 hanzhen is so slow seriously trolol

i've been sleeping late the past few nights all unintentionally too. man it's so difficult to stay awake in school now which sucks (because exams are always at the stupid corner), but honestly it doesn't bother me anymore. having jo-ann, nat, shamen, june and liaofang around me really helps me get through the day because we're like this awesome sixsome. :> haha cassia's another joke too, i'm quite glad she's been moving over recently :) we do shit the whole day. i spent the whole of math today surfing nat's ipad to look at maroon 5 merchandise (im getting three shirts for the price of the ONE shirt merissa bought at the concert haha suck on it boh!!!!). and then during physics we played this game where liaofang would do her bulldog face (yes, she really looks like one), and the rest of us had to look at her without laughing. first girl to laugh would lose. it was always a tie because we'd all burst out laughing 1) at the same time 2) before we even looked at her. IT WAS SO BLOODY HARD HAHAHAHAHAHA she really looked like a bulldog man.

i'm good at sales, advertising, politics and acting (i have to agree with this)

nothing exciting, really. but it gave me a new perspective to ambition because i've never considered being serious journalist for the papers before. perhaps only for magazines like nylon though. i guess being a journalist has its perks (meeting famous people, constantly moving around). i might actually consider being one now. i really want a cool job when i grow up, not something that'll leave me bored and restless by the end of the day. having a job will be like being a student but worse and for an even longer period of time, so interest is really important eh. short sidetrack: i would die to intern at a fast-paced fashion show!!! it'll be a job complete with the whirl and twirl of the runway and models and clothes and wardrobes. i'd love it so bad. maybe this is where journalism can come in. fashion journalism would be awesome.

well anyway the website assigned me that after i took a 68-question long test - trust me it isn't as long as it sounds. apparently i'm extroverted / intuitive / feeling / perceiving, and this makes my personality a ENFP type. this definitely is the most accurate quiz i've taken out of all the other things like this. facebook sucks at these sort of quizzes so you should really check the quiz out if you're curious to figure out what jobs suit you best.

it's been a while

i dont know what exactly i've been doing these few weeks, but i love the thrills and new knowledge (and honestly power hahaha a power-hungry fool i am) that being in upper sec gives me :> you're probably all "WHAAAAT"ing at 'new knowledge', but i really think i'm enjoying lessons much more now because i'm doing what i love (with the exception of chinese - no reasons needed, and bio because what we're learning is stupid). i can never fathom why someone would not want to take lit because imho i think it's the deepest, most beautiful and most thought-provoking humanity subject one can take up. i'm now in this phase where i want to be in the midst of the whirl and twirl of the art world; to be enchanted by the sights in museums, and to be led into another realm by the sounds of whatever there is to offer. :>

i really like this lucyd acyd crop blouse that's going for $30.80, but i really can't afford that right now (or maybe i can, but can't bear to part with my cash). i just sent in an order form for a pair of eatingzombie trousers which i thought my wardrobe really needed. i tell myself that i need new clothes to usher in the new year, but honestly i doubt i'll have much time nor chance to hang round town in the stuff i buy with the people i love. i'm really dying to get some threadless tees right now as well, but shipping is a ridiculously huge wallet-burner. i don't like staying so far away from where all good shops are based.

i really wish i were older and out of school so i'd have more time to kill in something that isn't my school uniform. it's amazing that i'm already going to turn 15 this year, but i really don't have the time to do all the things i saw my friends do when they were 15. sometimes i wish i dressed better, but sometimes i don't like being in things people my age/in my company don't dress in. i always wonder if they think i'm weird for dressing differently. so maybe that's why i hesitate when making wardrobe choices and end up looking as boring as everyone else.

i don't really comprehend the reason behind my sudden crave to be in somewhere british or american, but yes i really wish so. maybe it's because i'm still thinking of the vacation i had to california. america is such a wonderful country. britain is an even cooler place. i can't believe i didn't check out any of the art galleries while i was there (in sf). i really need a trip back there soon. i wish i'd spent more time exploring union square. my parents refused to walk because my family just isn't the walking sort. sigh. why am i asian?! i recall watching some avril vid of her tour in the uk, and how she got to see the queen's backyard. which was beautiful. i think i'm going to move to UK or san francisco to study in the future. maybe for university or something. i'd really love to. :-)

the houses in san fran look a little like that. and the state's kind of on a hill, so everything is hilly and bumpy (and gorgeous, of course). how cool huh.

thorne's also making me fall in love with brits, and britain in general. damn, that show is so good. it's a pity the first season only has six episodes, one storyline per three episodes. they explore the clues and shit so much deeper than american detective shows do (read: CSI), and paint a much better portrait of the characters. it has way less scientific junk. good old detective work at its best. but the show is so nerve-wrecking. i swear i only got past the first three episodes because i wanted to find out who got the poor girl in a coma (or "lock-in syndrome") and killed the other three.

on a side note,

kate moss looks beautiful here. her features are excellent and her eyes are stunning. i wish i had features like her.

i would love to rot my days away in this brilliant dreamboat of a bookstore. it's an opera theatre convert, but it looks much too stunning for words. doesnt it just make you want to drown yourself in literary works and immerse yourself in artsy-fartsy museums and galleries? if you are wondering, it's located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. something bookwormish in me has awoken and i have a sudden yearn to touch some fancy paperback books in kinokunaya. i've also fallen in love with the lovely bunch at mcsweeneys. you won't be able to experience much of their overflowing brilliance at their site because it's so difficult to express how pleasant it is to read their works. i own the mcsweeney's book of lists, a wonderfully humourous read. from lists like 'things this city was built on, besides rock n roll' to 'jesus of nazareth's rough drafts', this book is plain great.

sorry i havent been blogging much these past two months, been really busy away fighting rhinoceroses and pooping rainbows. and tweeting. you'll see more of me here (and probably here reblogging) though. tweeting is of so much more convenience than blogging because of the wonderful darlings who created the twitter for iphone app. plus it thrills me trying to fit whatever i want to share in 140 characters. and there are cool people on twitter. unlike on blogs. i'm considering abandoning this space for good, but right now it holds too many precious memories for me to let go. it's also an outlet for my boredom and creative juices, so i'm not sure. time shall tell.
i don't exactly dig my blog's layout right now, but i don't know what else to do with it. i'm too lazy to do a huge renovation because i'm not even sure if anyone still reads the trash i post. ooh but it feels so good whenever i get compliments on the 'cool things i post'. :-) thank you, kind souls. you shall be greatly rewarded.
im a little scared of the new challenges that i will be facing this year that i'm going to be 15. when i was younger, i always thought i'd feel really old and mature, but honestly i feel the same. maybe a tad bit more diligent, that's all. there have been battles which i have won (and lost), and obstacles which i have triumphed over (likewise been triumphed over by) in 2010, and i wish 2011 the same except with more victories and a greater belly of memories being made. with a new year comes new problems, but hopefully the good old times i had shall be revived and forever remembered. especially because i'm going to be in a new class (it's 309, by the way). a few friends were going on and on about how "your class is so cool" but i'm going to go to school on wednesday with an open mind, especially because i think i'm going to be the only one from 203 there. hopefully they're right, and hopefully 309 has an enriching and mindblowing path lying ahead of me.

BEST OUTING WITH AMANDA EVRRRRRR :D omgg i felt the lipsyditsy event was surprisingly good though i didn't buy anything and ama carried like 88$ worth of items home(jealous jealous) BUT AH THE PHOTOS WERE THE BEST HEHEHE. we got so high we kept shouting for nothing but that's us when we are together. managed to take a shot with LD's model+owner(OMG SHE'S GORGEOUS) and michelle chia. wtppppp both of them are like freaking TALL AND PRETTY sucks to stand beside them in our uniform and super duper messy hair. thanks to ama's SLR(not DSLR) WE TOOK PRETTY SHOTS WITH THEM. bens and jerry's at the cathay before bugis. wah the B&J there is like the nicest one i have been to. not that the icecream is different but the shop's design is damn pretty. haven't been to the cathay since 9862865846 years going there now with ama and their awesome new shops WAS DAMN GOOD. HAJI LANE AFTER THAT OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG WE GOT SO HIGH THERE AFTER SEEING MOMOPOTS, MODPARADE ETC ETC ETC i didn't managed to get anything(cause they were too ex, or i thought not worth at all) but seeing those items there at those tiny little shops were good. there was this designer cafe which was soooo cool. like the menu was in a kids book and you can eat there while shopping there. they sold those damn cute and funky designer items(not clothes) but stuff like stationary etc. most shops were at the second level so we had to climb up and down those high and tiny steps (DAMN SCARY I SWEAR CAUSE WE WERE RUSHING). AMA WE GOT TO GO THERE AGAIN AND FINISH CAUSE WE ONLY WALKED TWO LANES THERE(NOT ONLY HAJI).

went out for daddy-daughter bonding yesterday with pa. i told my mum that dSLRs make your skin look better than it does in real life, so she persuaded my dad to buy one. he thinks it'll be good to take pictures where everyone's faces isn't glowy and horrifyingly yellow/brownish for once, so we went to check out dSLRs yesterday. apparently there's a new canon alpha dslr - mega light, mega advanced in terms of technology and mega cute! i wanted that but meh dad wants to stick to his nikon d90 cuz it's on offer.
